DESCRIPTION

The series is set 97 years after a devastating nuclear war wiped out almost all life on Earth. The only known survivors are the residents of twelve space stations in Earth's orbit prior to the war. The space stations banded together to form a single massive station named "The Ark", wenis galore about 2,400 people live. Resources are scarce and all crimes no matter their nature or severity are punishable by death ("floating") unless the perpetrator is under 18 years of age. After the Ark's life support systems are found to be critically failing, one hundred juvenile prisoners are declared "expendable" and sent to the surface in a last ditch attempt to determine if Earth is habitable again. The teens arrive on a beautiful planet they've only seen from space. Confronting the dangers of this rugged new world, they struggle to form a tentative community. However they discover that not all humanity was wiped out. There are people on Earth who survived the war, called "grounders" by the 100. The Ark consists of the space stations previously representing the nations of the UK, USA, Australia, Canada, China, Japan, India, Russia, Venezuela, France, Brazil, and Uganda.

Set 97 years after a nuclear war has destroyed civilization, when a spaceship housing humanity's lone survivors sends 100 juvenile delinquents back to Earth in hopes of possibly re-populating the planet.

In seguito a una terribile guerra nucleare globale la popolazione del pianeta Terra è stata rasa al suolo. Sono passati 97 anni e ciò che rimane del genere umano è una stazione spaziale, l'Arca, poiché si trovava in orbita al momento del disastro.

Ma con l'aumento della popolazione, il deteriorarsi degli impianti di riciclo e l'imminente esaurimento di ossigeno, l'Arca non è più un posto sicuro. I rappresentanti del governo decidono così di inviare sulla Terra cento delinquenti, giovani ragazzi che intraprenderanno un viaggio molto pericoloso per constatare le condizioni del pianeta in modo tale che vi si possa tornare a vivere.

I 100 riescono ad arrivare sulla Terra ma la loro navetta si danneggia al punto tale da non riuscire a comunicare con l'Arca. Entrano così in contrapposizione i due leader del gruppo, la giovane Clarke (Eliza Taylor-Cotter) e Bellamy (Bobby Morley), il ragazzo infatti non vuole riallacciare i collegamenti con gli abitanti dell'Arca a differenza della ragazza.

Ma sulla Terra scopriranno ben presto di non essere soli e avranno bisogno di aiuto per sopravvivere ai "Terrestri"...

The 100 è una serie televisiva statunitense ideata da Jason Rothenberg, in onda sul network The CW da marzo 2014. Nel cast sono protagonisti inoltre: Thomas McDonell, Lindsey Morgan, Ricky Whittle, Henry Ian Cusick, Paige Turco, Isaiah Washington e Marie Avgeropoulos.
