Maintenance is a light, yet powerful Mac OS X application specially made to help you run various miscellaneous tasks of system maintenance in order to repair permissions, reset Spotlight?s Index, delete applications and more.
User-friendly interface
From Maintenance?s main window you can quickly and effortlessly perform a wide variety of tasks that can help you improve your Mac?s overall performance. You have access to a total of four panels that can help you verify, maintenance, rebuild and clean various files, permissions, cache and more.
Consequently, the first tab helps you verify the S.M.A.R.T status along with the structure of the system files. On top of that, the Maintenance panel allows you to effortlessly repair permissions and execute Maintenance Scripts.
Rebuild services and caches
The Rebuilding feature allows you to rebuilt the LaunchServices, dyld?s shared cache, Spotlight index, Appearance of folders? content, Help Center and Mail?s mailboxes.
Moreover, Maintenance comes with a Cleaning capabilities that you can use to clean the user, fonts and system cache, logs along with the Diagnostic Reports, web browser cache and history, obsolete, temporary and Recent Items, saved application states, automatically saved versions of documents, as well as the Trash.
It is worth mentioning that some of the above mentioned tasks might require a long time to complete and, as a result, you?ll have to wait for the selected operation to finish. You should reserve some time for the maintenance process, especially if you want to repair permissions or rebuild the display of folders? content.
Customizable behavior
By accessing the Preferences window, you can configure Maintenance to display notification messages in the Notification Center and before closing the app. Furthermore, when you want to quit the app, Maintenance can display the confirmation message along with the Maintenance log.
