DESCRIPTION
Detroit - in the future - is crime-ridden and run by a massive company. The company has developed a huge crime-fighting robot, which unfortunately develops a rather dangerous glitch. The company sees a way to get back in favor with the public when policeman Alex Murphy is killed by a street gang. Murphy's body is reconstructed within a steel shell and called RoboCop. RoboCop is very successful against criminals and becomes a target of supervillian Boddicker.

In un futuro non troppo lontano gli Stati Uniti utilizzano nelle zone di guerra robot dalla forma umanoide assieme ai droni ma per legge non lo fanno sul proprio territorio. La Omnicorp, società che produce la suddetta tecnologia, nel tentativo di invadere anche il mercato interno con i suoi prodotti, pensa che mettere un uomo dentro le macchine potrebbe cambiare la percezione della gente e così trova un agente di polizia mutilato da un incidente sul lavoro e ne fa un robot con coscienza. La suddetta coscienza, unita ai ricordi dell'incidente sono però anche il problema principale, Robocop è efficiente ma anche una scheggia poco controllabile e dunque inutile alle finalità per le quali era stato costruito. Tutti lo vogliono morto ma lui vuole vivere.
