DESCRIPTION

Inventor Gepetto creates a wooden marionette called Pinocchio. His wish that Pinocchio be a real boy is unexpectedly granted by a fairy. The fairy assigns Jiminy Cricket to act as Pinocchio's "conscience" and keep him out of trouble. Jiminy is not too successful in this endeavor and most of the film is spent with Pinocchio deep in trouble.

TRAMA:

Geppetto, un povero falegname, partendo da un ciocco di legno costruisce un burattino e lo chiama Pinocchio. Geppetto si prende cura di Pinocchio decidendo di farlo studiare, per comprargli l'abecedario vende addirittura la sua casacca, Pinocchio però, invece di andare a scuola, vende il libro per assistere ad uno spettacolo di burattini. Pinocchio incontra Mangiafoco, il quale prima intende bruciarlo ma poi cambia idea e gli regala delle monete d'oro, e lo manda a casa scortato da il Gatto e la Volpe che lo raggirano per prendergli il denaro e poi lo impiccano, per sua fortuna viene salvato dalla bambina dai capelli turchini. Dopo varie peripezie Pinocchio conosce Lucignolo e con lui finisce nel Paese dei balocchi dove vengono trasformati in asini. Riesce a fuggire tuffandosi in mare dove però viene inghiottito da un grande pescecane, proprio nel ventre dell'animale ritrova Geppetto che era andato a cercarlo a bordo di una piccola barca. Pinocchio salva il babbo e una volta a riva viene ricompensato dalla bambina dai capelli turchini che lo trasforma in un bambino vero.

STORYLINE:

Geppetto the carpenter carves the object of his hidden desires out of a log: a puppet that will keep him company and will be like a son to him. He will call him Pinocchio. Imagine his surprise when he discovers that the puppet moves, as if by magic, and is gifted with a life on its own.
