Chaotic birdbrain Lloyd Gibbs, the protected witness in a murder among robbers case, in lodged by Provenza and Flynn in a tacky motel until his trial, but when they come pick him up, it's under LAPD siege as he's the prime suspect in the robbery-murder on the nearest convenience store. Julio Sanchez misrepresents the problem to buy a short court extension, after which it may blow up in his and DDA Rios's faces. For the first time, Rusty presents study mate, smart girl Kris Slater, puzzling the team enough to spy on them shamelessly for a bet how for they will bond. Drunk Lloyd Gibbs's alibi -apart for the beer he stole by not paying- is the phone slut Shampagne, a youth acquaintance which he believes responsive to his romantic interest, but who turns out involved deeper with a third fiend.

DESCRIPTION
