This is a somewhat low effort release majorly improving on every aspect of previous releases that I made for myself to watch. It should be the best encode currently available (even among SDBD encodes) and the subtitles have been heavily edited. But it still sucks.
The available subtitles are awful. Not in a way that I would discourage watching it at all (it's not ARR), but certainly atrocious. Subs are completely mistimed, not rarely by over a second, the styling is atrocious, the script is... full of useless ellipses... like is customary with bad old fansubs..., there are untranslated french (???) lines left in the subtitles sometimes, place names are commonly spelled wrong as are any words, really. The situation is quite dire and any attempt to make even an okay script should start with completely throwing any previous script work that has been done for the show out of the window.
What I have done is retime the subtitles for the OP/ED, TPP the main script and then loosely retime the rest of the script specifically taking care of those lines that are completely mistimed, I restyled the subtitles to make them readable, I introduced consistent dash-usage, stutters, and alt style handling, I spellchecked each script and ran it through grammarly, I edited and retimed lines with CPS over 20 that were hard to impossible to read without pausing, I made sure place names are correct (it should be Montmartre, for example), and I tried to rein in the overusage of ellipses but found myself in a losing battle on at least that front. All that is to say that I made this awful script much much more presentable, but the source script is still awful.
The encode is suboptimal because I didn't manually IVTC, leading to leftover combing in some scenes, though mostly the OP and ED. A good encode should also scenefilter the scenes with shimmering, and try to ascertain the correct aspect ratio. You'll find that the number of black bars on the side changes on a scene-by-scene basis and I couldn't be fucked to deal with any of that because I am trying to watch this show first and foremost, so I slightly overcropped and left it at that. I'm also not completely confident in current handling of fixing dvd aspect ratios w.r.t. container cropping. All of that isn't the best way of handling things so this encode can be majorly improved upon just like the subs can. Not that I am expecting any of that to happen anytime soon.

**I would love any sort of QC reports** on these episodes in my [Public QC Discord server](https://discord.gg/YwpJf2fHDe). Please keep it to major issues like mistranslations, completely mistimed lines, spelling and grammar issues, and so on. Due to the nature of what I'm working with minor issues are like sand at the beach.
