DESCRIPTION
The show follows a crime, ususally adapted from current headlines, from two separate vantage points. The first half of the show concentrates on the investigation of the crime by the police, the second half follows the prosecution of the crime in court.

Series Plot: In the criminal justice system, sexually-based offenses are considered especially heinous. In New York City, the dedicated detectives who investigate these vicious felonies are members of an elite squad known as the Special Victims Unit. These are their stories.
Episode plot: Three teens -- Jason King, Doug Waverly and Nick Pratt -- are suspected of foul play when high school student Jennifer Durning disappears after a night of partying. Nick and Doug's wealthy parents and their attorneys argue the plan was for Jason to lose his virginity to Jennifer before the other two had consensual sex with her -- but Jason got greedy. Jason agrees to testify, but when he disappears, Judge Donnelly has no choice but to dismiss the case. A.D.A. Casey Novak becomes suspicious because without Jason's testimony there's no case against the other boys. Attorneys Dave Seaver, Oliver Gates and Monica Bradshaw represent the teens.
