DESCRIPTION
The show follows a crime, ususally adapted from current headlines, from two separate vantage points. The first half of the show concentrates on the investigation of the crime by the police, the second half follows the prosecution of the crime in court.

Series Plot: In the criminal justice system, the people are represented by two separate, yet equally important, groups: the police, who investigate crime and the district attorneys, who prosecute the offenders. These are their stories.
Episode plot: Lupo and Bernard are called in to investigate the death of a young heiress, Annie Douglas (Morgan Lynch), who died of an apparent drug overdose. The detectives begin to suspect her cousin, Randy Colwyn (Daniel Abeles), whose inheritance was increased due to Annie's death. As the investigation continues, Annie's greedy relatives reveal another recent loss in the group. The case becomes more than a family matter as an experimental cancer clinic, fraudulent adoptions and unborn children are tied into the case.
