Overview : Derek Thomas is the author of The Demented: Z Series, including Book 1: The Demented, Book 2: The Demented: Desolation, and a companion piece called The Demented: Confliction. He lives in the Pacific Northwest with his wife and two kids. Writing a book was on his bucket list and once he got started he found the process freed his mind and let him get away from things for a time.

1. The Demented
A loving family man is hundreds of miles from home when a pandemic of unimaginable horrors is unleashed on the world. It happens in an instant. Governments are wiped out and cities fall into chaos, every second a struggle to survive. If he ever hopes to see his family alive, he will have to overcome hordes of demented, bands of evil gangs, and things beyond his worst nightmares.
2. Desolation
Cities are crumbling. Towns have been obliterated. The world has fallen into complete chaos. Only the lucky and skilled have survived. Zombies and demented now roam the streets and forests in search of the living. Tom Pike and his group of friends join forces with others in hopes of not only surviving the apocalypse, but fighting back.
2.5 Confliction (Short Story)
Confliction is a companion piece to the unrelenting zombie series The Demented Z. It can be read as a standalone from the series. Abby and her friends expect the day to be like any other, filled with friendship, video games, and laughter. Instead, the world turns to chaos. Cities swell with death and destruction. Survival is put to the ultimate test. Will Abby have what it takes to get to safety? Nobody planned on dying today. They were wrong. Nobody thought the apocalypse would start today. They were wrong. The beginning of the end starts today.
3. Contagion
The thrilling conclusion to the unrelenting zombie series The Demented Z is here. Fevers run rampant. The infection spreads. Trust is at a minimum.
