For video, it was a hard pick between CEE & SUI. Both are good transfers, and both have pros & cons.
CEE was encoded with x264 and it handles banding slightly better than SUI. On the other hand, looking closely at CEE you will see occasional macroblocks and not as fine details as on SUI.
But these 2 differences between them are so minimal that no one will spot them during playback. The logical choice would have been CEE due to its smaller filesize, but – as a personal preference – I chose SUI because of its cleaner look compared to the digital grain added in CEE.
Because it’s encoded with x264, the opening scene with the movie title was much better debanded and so I took that from CEE. The ending scene had hardcoded German text in SUI, and I couldn’t use the one from CEE because it created a video glitch, so I was left with taking it from US.
SUI had 24fps, so I slowed down the video with eac3to.
I tonemapped English SDH sub to 80% white so it wouldn't be too annoying to watch, but was too lazy to do the same for others.
Also, when I made these screens a long time ago I was under the impression it's GER release, but it's actually SUI release done by Ascot Elite Entertainment.
