Le Mans Ultimate is a car simulator that recreates the 2023 season of the World Endurance Championship (WEC), an endurance racing championship organized by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA). Motorsport Games initiated its creation and handed over the production to its experienced Studio 397, which became famous for the game rFactor 2.
The developer transferred much of the experience gained while developing rFactor 2 to Le Mans Ultimate. Thanks to this, the project features advanced car physics and realistic races, taking into account all track rules and changing weather conditions. However, assists are provided, thanks to which amateurs who do not have steering wheels should not be discouraged from playing.
Contrary to the title, the game not only recreates the famous 24-hour competition on the French Circuit de la Sarthe. We also take part in other rounds of the WEC championship, taking place on tracks such as Spa-Francorchamps, Monza, Bahrain, Sebring, Portimao and Fuji.
We sit behind the wheel of cars of various classes, e.g. Hypercar, LMP2 and GTE. The main course is the former, including cars from brands such as Porsche, Ferrari, Peugeot and Toyota, which were just starting their racing careers in 2023. In lower categories there are also machines from manufacturers such as Aston Martin and Chevrolet.
In Le Mans Ultimate you can compete against both artificial intelligence and other players online. The creators also planned asynchronous long-distance competitions in cooperation, in which several drivers from the team take turns in one car, completing their parts of the race at a time convenient for them.
Le Mans Ultimate is based largely on the content that Studio 397 previously released in rFactor 2 - but it has been graphically refreshed.
