Twenty years have passed since the unsuccessful launch of the first Jurassic Park, the tragedy was forgotten, and a new dinosaur park, called "Jurassic World", is in full operation on the island of Nublar. Its manager, Claire Deering (Bryce Dallas-Howard), lives by numbers and knows perfectly well that you can't stand still, so she actively supports the desire of her superiors to grow new species of dinosaurs using genetic engineering. Her new creation is the so–called Indominus Rex, a ruthless and extremely intelligent lizard, in whose DNA local scientists have mixed so much that it is dangerous even to be near him. And naturally, in the end, Indominus Rex breaks free – just at the moment when her nephews come to visit Claire. Former Marine Owen Grady (Chris Pratt), who now specializes in raptor training, takes over the situation.
Jurassic Park, as everyone knows (even those who were not born in 1993 yet!), was not just a movie, but a real event – both cultural and technological. This film gave a huge boost to the cinematic special effects industry and set a new bar for quality in terms of film entertainment. In fact, "Park" formed this genre – it seated the audience in a kind of transparent sphere, on which the young heroes of "Jurassic World" travel, and sent them on an incredible, exciting, action-packed film journey dividing life into "before" and "after".
The new "Jurassic World", which is formally a sequel to the original film, but in fact looks more like a restart of the cycle, still does not pull at revelation – special-effect attractions nowadays will not surprise anyone, we have them now for every taste, from teenage "Avengers" to adult "Mad Max". But what you can't argue with is that of all the sequels of Jurassic Park (and, of course, its clones) this is the closest thing to him in spirit, style and overall feeling of a real big movie inclusion. Such that you gasp enthusiastically every five minutes, so that you never get distracted by the clock and in the end discover that the armrests of the chairs and whitened fingers had to take the rap for your nerves.
To say that absolutely everything is successful in Jurassic World would be an exaggeration, but everything that a picky eye can cling to can theoretically be justified. And a villain with a slightly cartoonish motivation, and somewhat annoying attempts to play a family drama (although a short dialogue about the divorce of Claire's nephews' parents seems to have simply forgotten to cut out during editing – it appears out of nowhere and never pops up again), and sometimes unjustified cruelty. Yes, although you will not see the torn bodies in the frame, there will be enough victims, and in this case the PG-13 age rating is not so much a recommendation as a warning
