When Microsoft introduced its final version of the system, Windows 10, it also tried to regain its title as a leader in the browser segment. Their brainchild was the Spartan browser, after a while changing its name to Edge. This browser was different from all others, because it was based on its own EdgeHTML engine, with its own chips, which it later began to overgrow. To be fair, the browser was really good, in many ways, speed was one of them. All the pages in it opened very quickly, and it loaded instantly. After a while, it added support for extensions, which made it a full-fledged browser. Yes, it had its own glitches, but which program doesn't have them?
And then it went on. Microsoft's policy is changing before our eyes, not for the better. For me, the new leadership ruined a lot of promising projects that Ballmer had started. The browser also came under a sharp knife. No, it was not destroyed or closed (it would have been better if it had been done), it was transferred to the lame and oblique engine. Now it's another faceless browser, of which there are thousands, if not more. The competition is melting away before our eyes, there will soon be no choice, which is sad. Damn, I've lost the point.
Here. If the original version on its engine was deeply connected to the system, then this division is already separate from the system, which will allow you to run the browser on any system starting with Windows 7. It has profile support, so you can synchronize all sorts of bookmarks, addresses and other delights of life that simplify working with browsers, you do not need everything will be set up again. However, there is no extension support here..not yet. In the future, they may deliver what it will be like, though I don't know. Whether it will be an ordinary Google extension store, or they will come up with another unnecessary crutch, I'm xs. Anyway, we'll live, we'll live, we'll see. It's too early to say, because it is still in development, and the choice of settings is not as large as we would like.
The developers also cut out all sorts of chips inherent in Google from it, there was an article the other day, I think we saw it. To sum up: I don't think this browser has a great future ahead of it, even when it's finished. There are many, many of them, these chrome clones. The market needs something new and something of its own. The most remarkable thing is that some time ago, Mikes compared their Edge with Chrome, making some arguments in favor of their browser, exposing it in the best light according to some parameters and tests. Now they are suddenly abandoning their engine in favor of a competitor. You need to drive Satya off the T-shirts with a broom, but that's another story
