This might be the world's largest collection of SNL Christmas shorts! When I was assembling it, I went through 6-7 different playlists on youtube and at least a dozen web articles. As I recall, the longest playlist had about 60 videos -- less than a third as many as this collection. The articles had 25 or fewer.
Unfortunately, I found very few skits from the early years.
When Saturday Night Live began, in 1975, I was in college. Every broadcast was an *event*! We would all go to our friend John's house to watch on his giant TV. Home-made cigarettes were passed around. LOL
The import of this, is I remembered a handful of skits that can't be found *anywhere*, as far as I can tell. One is "Gift of the Magi". It's in this collection because I downloaded the episode and extracted the skit. There are a couple others like that, but it's been about 2.5 years and I forget the skits' names.
The collection has Elvis Costello performing "Radio Radio" in 1977. The video doesn't have anything to do with Christmas, other than the fact that the performance occurred during SNL's annual Christmas show. I included it because I fucking love that song!
I wish the episodes were better annotated. If you are moved to add some descriptions to the videos, esp. who they star -- please do that and release an updated torrent!
