La Villa Strangiato 29. Working Man 30. outro film "I Still Love You, Man" 31. Closer To The Heart (polka PA exit music) Notes: During the first intro film, I stood up and it resulted in mic noise. It was significantly bad in one part, so I trimmed that section out and it now sounds like a minor jump cut (believe me, it's better that way). I left the remaining mic noise in (it lasts from 5:02-5:08), so if that annoys you, please just skip ahead to track 2. I had the same problem at the beginning of the second set when I stood during the intro film and at the end of the show when I sat down for the polka version of "Closer To The Heart" playing over the PA. But I was able to edit the noise out of both of those to where it's probably no longer noticeable. There's also a miniscule dropout in "Vital Signs" (I doubt many will notice it, but I did, so I thought I should mention it). I wanted to share as complete a show as possible, so I apologize for not being able to offer a flawless recording. Fortunately, most of those errors occured when the band wasn't on stage. There was a technical problem on Geddy's vocal/keyboards after the encore, so he's not heard until nearly the end of the polka intro to "La Villa Strangiato." And the side video screens went out during the outro film, so a lot of people booed (the section I was in had an obstructed view, so we couldn't see the backscreen at all). No one ever sat in the two chairs to my right (happy for me, but sad for all the people outside trying to get a ticket), and the man to my left was quiet (although it's his applause you'll hear the most between tracks). The only minor audience noise came from a whistler behind me, as well as the people walking in front of me through the center, horizontal aisle (some of them were talk-shouting as they went by). There was also an issue that took place in that same aisle during the beginning of "Closer To The Heart," so there is some brief shouting by security. There is also teensy bit of phasing during "Subdivisions" from the mass exodus of people who knew that was the set's last song and there's a clap that sounds like a pop in "The Camera Eye." But other than that, I don't think I've ever been around such a respectful bunch of Rush fans. My levels were set a little low, so play this one loud (just beware of the loud explosions in "Marathon" and "Far Cry"). And I chose the "Universal Pictures" title because it seemed the most appropriate, considering the Moving Pictures set and the fact that this venue is on the Universal Studios lot. This was my 14th time seeing Rush, but my first since the 2004 R30 tour (I couldn't afford the Snakes & Arrows tour...I couldn't afford this tour either, but it was at least in the smallest venue I'd ever seen them play). Both Alex and Geddy are playing incredibly well on this tour (Neil always plays great :) But it was just breathtaking to watch them solo--especially on tracks like "Leave That Thing Alone" and "Freewill." And the steampunk set design was gorgeous and the Moving Pictures set was outstanding. Do not sell or buy this recording. Trade freely. Thank you to all the Rush tapers, traders and seeders in the world. I'm finally able to contribute something after all you've given. Please support the band by buying their official releases and merch, and seeing them live if you can. http://www.rush.com I hope people don't mind, but I'd like to dedicate this to my brother. He loved Rush for nearly his entire life and he would have loved this show.
