DESCRIPTION
In 1327, an enlightened friar and his young apprentice investigate a series of mysterious deaths at an abbey risking the wrath of a powerful Inquisitor. Television adaptation of Umberto Eco's novel 'The Name of the Rose'.

Series Plot: Set in Italy in 1327, The Name of the Rose follows the Franciscan monk William of Baskerville and his novice Adso von Melk as they arrive at a secluded monastery in the Alps. There they become witnesses to a series of mysterious murders. While Baskerville and Melk investigate and search for the killer, they are hunted themselves by the merciless inquisitor Bernard Gui, who prosecutes those who criticize the pope.
Episode plot: Remigio is brought before Bernard Gui, who attempts to extract a confession. William is concerned that Bernard is attempting to implicate the Franciscan Order in the heretical crimes.
