Rush - 1984-06-25 - Experience To Extremes Remastered
I spent quite a bit of time getting this to the correct speed. I'm confident that I have it down to +/- 1/10th of a percent. The original ran a bit over 2% too fast. I made no EQ adjustments as it needed none. I raised the volume a bit, fixed the indexing and dumped the bonus tracks.

Great AUDIENCE recording. This Remaster fixes few flaws in the original Prism release. I recall a discussion while back where Mike Bahr (Prism) used the Intro/TSoR (first portion) from the GUP Video. You can hear the transition from the SBD source > AUD recording. According to the taper, this show was taped using AKG 460b > Sony WM-D5M. The recording is rich with deep bass and good midrange punch. I think the highs are just a bit too harsh (most likely from the original Prism's EQ). This is by far the BEST audience tape from the GUP tour, closely followed by Reno and Atlanta. (SEPT '03)

Perhaps the best audience recording of the GUP tour. All instruments represented well, and with a bit of EQ'ing can really sound great. Some songs only played on this tour make it a great addition to anyone's collection! (2004-11-08)

Awesome sounding bootleg. The band puts on a great show. Highlights are The Enemy Within, Afterimage, The Weapon, and Between The Wheels. My favorite show from the GUP tour. (2005-02-21)

ETE is another clean sounding boot that captures all the energy and strength of the band in the 80s. The reaction of the audience catches you right on the spot. It is inevitable to compare what was Rush back then and how they would be evolving through the years. For nouvelle listeners (just as I am) it would be clear an emphasis on the guitar rant: heavier, groovy at times, not so dependent on keyboards even though “Distant Early Warning” (with its long intro), “Red Sector A”, and “Subdivisions” tell you a different story. I personally like these versions, fresh and in good “speed”. We can notice in “Spirit of Radio” (mark 2:29) that Geddy strikes a vocal note before time. In “Afterimage”, there is a variation in the sound, a minor detail since throughout the set it is consistent. “Red Lenses” contains Neil’s drum solo, a rhythmical prelude. With “Finding My Way” and “In the Mood”, they simply keep the keyboards away and just rock the audience to finish the show. (2008-03-04)
