Sophie è una ragazza che lavora in un negozio che confeziona grandi e variopinti cappelli. Un giorno, viene tratta in salvo da uno strano personaggio, inseguito da delle strane figure che, vedendoli assieme, si mettono ad inseguire entrambi. Scampato il pericolo, Sophie ritorna nel negozio, ma viene raggiunta da una donna, che si rivela essere la Strega delle Lande, che le lancia una maledizione.......
