During a promotional 5 hour stream for the One Piece RED film, they showed a version of the original one piece OVA as both films were made by the same director (who shares some thoughts during the credits). To my knowledge this is the current highest quality version of this short film, and it looks BEAUTIFUL! I have taken the time to cut the ova out of the 5 hour stream and manually added in the English subtitles using the lower quality version's subs that are available online as my reference. I am adding this here in order to keep a moment of animation history.

Defeat Him! The Pirate Ganzack (also known as Defeat the Pirate Ganzack!) was the first animated adaptation of One Piece, an original video animation (OVA) produced by Production I.G. It was originally released in summer of 1998, with a limited screening across Japanese theaters. As it predates the Toei anime, this OVA features markedly different animation and voice actors. It also does not adapt or reference any specific story from the manga, though its status quo vaguely fits the period between the Orange Town Arc and the Syrup Village Arc.
For anyone curious! This is the Original 1998 OVA of one piece that was made before the Toei Anime that we all know and love. For years we have only had access to the low resolution "Jump Super Anime Tour '98" version. However this is a newer broadcast that I took from a recent promotional live stream for the new one piece red film. So it’s not the specific “jump super anime tour ‘98” broadcast of this short but a newer release of the same film which is why the resolution is much higher and it doesn’t include that anniversary logo at the start. This is not an upscale job but an official release! Hope that helps clarify where I got this! I have linked the original broadcast in the description for anyone interested.[/quote]
