The Forbidden Planet was released in theaters for the first time in 1956 and undoubtedly revolutionized the science fiction to which, until then, we were used to: aliens with false costumes, banal monstrous creatures that invaded the earth or that took possession of our minds, rockets propelled by “flame” thrusters or flying saucers supported by more or less visible wires.

When Adams and his crew are sent to investigate the silence from a planet inhabited by scientists, he finds all but two have died.
