DESCRIPTION
Chris Faraday once smuggled illegal items or contraband into the country on freighters. He left that life behind, got married, has a family and went legit. But when his brother-in-law got involved with Briggs, a drug dealer and when he blew a deal, Briggs demands restitution which he can't deliver. So Chris offers to find a way to pay Briggs but then he threatens Chris' family if he doesn't deliver. So he gets on a freighter destined for Panama and he sets out to bring back some counterfeit currency. Briggs "goes to see" Chris' family. When Chris learns of this he asks his friend Sebastian to take care of them which he does. He tells Chris that it would be better to bring drugs instead of the cash.

Trama:
Ambientato a New Orleans, il film esplora il feroce mondo underground del contrabbando internazionale pieno di criminali disperati e ufficiali corrotti - con alti rischi e grandi guadagni - dove la lealtà è rara e la morte è dietro l'angolo. Chris Farraday (Wahlberg) aveva ormai abbandonato la vita da criminale molto tempo prima, ma dopo che suo cognato, Andy (Caleb Landry Jones), manda per aria un affare di droga per il suo capo spietato Tim Briggs (Giovanni Ribisi), Chris è costretto a rientrare nel giro per occuparsi di quello che sa fare meglio, ovvero organizzare il contrabbando, per risolvere il debito di Andy. Chris è un narcotrafficante leggendario e riesce a radunare velocemente una banda con l'aiuto del suo migliore amico, Sebastian ( Ben Foster), per una partita finale a Panama andata e ritorno, sperando di tornare con milioni di banconote contraffatte. Le cose precipitano in fretta con poche ore per recuperare i contanti, Chris è costretto ad usare le sue abilità un po' arruginite per gestirsi con successo in un organizzazione infida, una rete di brutali criminali signori della droga, poliziotti ed assassini, prima che sua moglie Kate (Kate Beckinsale) e i suoi figli entrino nel loro obbiettivo.
