DESCRIPTION
Adam Reed, age 13, and still grieving the sudden death of his father a year earlier, walks into his garage one night to find a wounded pilot hiding there. This mysterious pilot turns out to be the older version of himself from the future, where time travel is in its infancy. He has risked everything to come back in time on a secret mission. Together they must embark on an adventure into the past to find their father, set things right, and save the world. The three working together, both young and grown Adam come to terms with the loss of their father and have a chance to heal the wounds that have shaped them. Adding to the challenge of the mission, the two Adams discover they really don't like each other very much, and if they're going to save the world, they're first going to have to figure out how to get along.

The Adam Project, film diretto da Shawn Levy, racconta la storia di un uomo, Adam Reed (Ryan Reynolds), che torna indietro nel tempo per chiedere aiuto a un se stesso tredicenne (Walter Scobell).
I viaggi del tempo nel futuro sono possibili, sebbene solo agli inizi, ma Adam, che ha da poco perso suo padre, è pronto a rischiare tutto pur di tornare indietro e compiere una missione top secret. L'uomo insieme al se stesso più giovane dovrà convincere suo padre (Mark Ruffalo), un fisico, a salvare il mondo, prima che per il futuro sia troppo tardi.
Aiutati dal genitore, i tre inizieranno a collaborare, ma i due Adam dovranno fare i conti anche con la perdita del padre, che uno ha vissuto e l'altro ha appena appreso. La riuscita della missione, però, si complica a causa proprio dei due Adam, che scopriranno - nonostante siano la stessa persona - di non andare per nulla d'accordo, ma dovranno andarsi incontro l'un l'altro affinché l'impresa titanica abbia successo.
