DESCRIPTION
Chefs compete for the chance of $20,000 as they are cooking inside a grocery store.
Series Plot: In each episode of Guy's Grocery Games, four talented chefs compete in a number of challenges as they navigate their way through the aisles of a grocery store, adhering to "real-world" obstacles. Whether it is shopping on a budget, substituting out-of-stock ingredients or grabbing groceries at closing time, each chef has to shop, prepare, and plate three different dishes using whatever they can pull off the shelves. Ultimately, the food does the talking, as one-by-one the losing chefs "check out," by a rotating panel of judges that includes Melissa d'Arabian, Richard Blais, G. Garvin, Troy Johnson, Catherine McCord, Aarti Sequeira, among others. The last chef standing goes on a shopping spree of a lifetime worth up to $20,000!
Episode plot: Guy Fieri lays out what may be the hardest challenge in Flavortown history: Three chefs can only use 26 ingredients -- one for each letter of the alphabet -- over the course of two rounds. In round one, the chefs must make a chicken dinner using 13 ingredients, each one starting with a different letter from A to M. Then, round two has the remaining two chefs create their go-to seafood dish using 13 ingredients starting with letters N to Z. The chef with the highest score after this one-of-a-kind culinary spelling bee will get a shot at winning $20,000.
