DESCRIPTION
Scotland Yard DI Richard Poole is sent to the Caribbean island of Sainte Marie to solve a fellow policeman's murder. Having done so, he finds himself seconded to the local police force as the dead man's replacement. Poole proves to be a brilliant detective, solving several complex murders. He's not quite suited to either the pace of life on the island or the heat and sand, neither of which he likes very much. He also doesn't like seafood. That aside, the place is just great.

Series Plot: Detective Inspector Richard Poole is transferred to Saint Marie, an island in the Caribbean. Totally unsuited to the Caribbean way of life, Richard hates the sun, sea and sand and isn't used to the Saint Marie style of policing. Working with the exotic Camille each week Richard investigates intricate and intriguing murders.
Episode plot: It seems money doesn't buy happiness when lottery winner Cherry is found dead at her luxurious villa, much to the horror of her husband and their visiting friends. As usual, Neville and the team are presented with a real head-scratcher when it turns out no one was in the house at the time - and the mystery deepens when the victim's body apparently vanishes into thin air. Meanwhile, JP is training unruly new officer Marlon, aware that his wife Rosey is due to give birth at any time
