DESCRIPTION
After losing his bride in a Luftwaffe air raid, bomber pilot Forrester becomes a solitary killing machine, who doesn't care whether he dies. The reckless Canadian pilot is both admired and feared by the rest of his squadron in World War II Burma. The squadron physician is assigned to determine the embittered Bill Forrester's fitness for duty. Sinopse Pt Br:
Peck interpreta um grande piloto de guerra em 1945, num acampamento na Ásia, sob um calor infernal. Ele é ágil, duro e cria muito desconforto no acampamento entre os outros oficiais pelo seu estilo independente, violento e por suas crises intempestivas. Quando Peck pensa em pedir transferência, o médico resolve leva-lo para conhecer as comunidades na Birmânia, na tentativa de humanizá-lo um pouco. Lá, conhece a personagem de Win Min Than, uma jovem que ajuda os combatentes como missionária-enfermeira, embora seja formada em Ciências Sociais.
