DESCRIPTION
Follows a locally born and bred S.W.A.T. sergeant who is torn between loyalty to the streets and duty to his fellow officers when he's tasked to run a highly-trained unit that's the last stop for solving crimes in Los Angeles.
Stars: Shemar Moore, Jay Harrington, Alex Russell, Lina Esco, Kenny Johnson, David Lim, Patrick St. Esprit, Peter Onorati, Stephanie Sigman, Amy Farrington
Series Plot: Los Angeles S.W.A.T. Lieutenant Daniel ‘Hondo’ Harrelson is assigned to lead a highly-skilled unit in the community where he grew up. Torn between loyalty to the streets where the cops are sometimes the enemy, and allegiance to his brothers in blue, he strategically straddles these two worlds. Hondo encourages his team to rely on communication and respect over force and aggression, but when a crisis erupts, these unflinching men and women are prepared to put their tactical training to the test.
Episode plot: Hondo, his father Daniel Sr. and his teen charge, Darryl confront the history of racial tension in Los Angeles between law enforcement and the Black community, through flashbacks to the city in 1992 following the Rodney King verdict. The team pursues El Diablo’s scattered drug cartel hiding in the city and a Jihadist group detonating bombs in coordinated attacks
