Three Grounded Pilots
These are three movies which had been intended as pilots for TV or movie series which just didn't fly. Doc Savage, based on the classic potboilers, starring muscleman Ron Ely; Evil Roy Slade, a Western Comedy starring the great John "Gomez" Astin; Gargoyles, a horror/fantasy starring Hollywood megastar Cornel Wilde. More complete remarks are in each folder, for those interested.
Also be sure to check the Bonus Material folder inside the Doc Savage folder, which contains the complete original novel on which the movie is based, an issue of Doc Savage comics from 1941, and finally, a "fanfic" Doc Savage story. OK, it's my own. Wrote it some 10 years ago,and it got some very nice feedback where I posted it. Hope you like it!
There was another I was hoping to include, another TV movie, "Poor Devil". I saw it when it aired, back in the Stone Age. It starred the late great Sammy Davis Jr. as a junior devil in Hell trying to recruit poor schlub Jack Klugman over to his side. Presumably a series would have had him offering new temptations to new schlubs every week. However, the only release I could find was a VERY poor reproduction on Youtube, and believe it or not, I do have SOME standards. If you're interested you can find it over there.
