Installation
The AppRemover does not require installation and can successfully run from a USB key just as well. Moreover, the size of the program is rather small, only 3.34 MB, so you will not lose a lot of storage space if you were to keep it on the computer. Overall, this is a standalone software utility that, once launched, will start scanning the system for the installed and supported security programs in your system.

The second button, Select Product, is commonly intended for users that have more than one protection software and, as its name indicates, it allows you choose the product that you want to remove. The next buttons indicate the stage of the uninstall process and the summary of the task.
Because you might select a software security utility by mistake, the application includes the commands “back” and “next,” that enable easy browsing for editing and reviewing purposes. Moreover, once you select the antivirus or anti-spyware applications, you will be asked to confirm that this is the right product before the actual uninstalling process begins. Lastly, if the AppRemover does not provide full support for the product that you want to remove, when you reach the final step, you can choose to restart the entire process.
Pros
Taken as a whole, the AppRemover is a very useful free application and one of its most appreciated features is the detection of the security products on your machine. However, thanks to its capabilities, you will have nothing to worry about in terms of leaving any erroneous WMIs behind.
Cons
Its main problem, as reported by users, is that it has limited support for security software. However, what seems to bother most of the AppRemover users is the cloud of confusion regarding the WMI-only supported programs.
Alternatives
An alternative to AppRemover is the Revo Uninstaller software, a tool designed by VS Revo Group. Available in both free and paid versions, the Revo Uninstaller is able to perform the scanning and cleaning of security products with just as much efficiency. However, if you are looking for a professional application that includes features needed by expert users, then Glary Utilities Free (also available in a paid version) is a very nice choice.
Conclusion
The AppRemover software is a freeware that aims to eliminate the traces of old products that impede you from installing a new security suite. The main problem with this application is that it seems to have limited support. However, if you are trying to eliminate a product present in its support list, you will be very happy with the results.
