DESCRIPTION

Sinopse Pt Br:
No século l d.c., Basílio (Newman), um escultor grego, é vendido como escravo por seu vil tio. Logo, ele é de novo comprado por pessoas que sabem das suas grande qualidade como escultor para fazer um trabalho único: usando o cálice que Jesus usou na ultima ceia , fazer uma peça de prata na qual estariam esculpidas os rostos dos discípulos e do próprio Jesus. Basílio então, viaja para Jerusalém. Paralelamente um sórdido mágico, Simão (palance), tenta convencer a multidão que é um novo messias, usando truques baratos. Basílio se casa com Débora (angeli), mas sente-se fortemente atraído Por helena (mayo), que é mulher de Simão. Repentinamente o cálice é roubado pelos sicários para favorecer Simão, que quer irritar Pedro (greene), ostentando o cálice em roma, mas o cálice é recuperado. No entanto um futuro obscuro esta reservado para magnífica peça. Maravilhoso.
