DESCRIPTION
Captain Jack Harkness, the former Time Agent and con man from the 51st century last seen traveling with the Doctor, ventures to early 21st century Cardiff. Torchwood es serie de televisión británica que se emite Reino Unido en el canal BBC Three. Se trata de un spin-off del clásico de ciencia ficción Doctor Who. El nombre de Torchwood nace de un juego de letras a partir del nombre de Doctor Who, ya que ambos títulos tienen el mismo número de letras. Cuando se rodaba la nueva versión de Doctor Who de 2005, las cintas de cada capítulo se enviaban a Londres desde Cardiff tituladas como Torchwood, para evitar que nadie las robase o copiase por el camino y las pusiese en Internet.
Torchwood es una agencia fuera del gobierno británico creada por la Reina Victoria y que se encarga de buscar cualquier fenómeno sobrenatural que ocurra en el Reino Unido, estudiarlo y neutralizar cualquier posible amenaza que pueda surgir del mismo. Como en la ciudad de Cardiff hay una barrera dimensional que se extiende cada día más, una de las bases de Torchwood se encuentra allí . Dicha base esta controlada por el Capitán Jack Harkness, un humano del futuro que vive atrapado en el pasado sin poder morir, y sin saber por qué.
