DESCRIPTION
Follows the story of Claire Randall, a married combat nurse from 1945 who is mysteriously swept back in time to 1743, where she is immediately thrown into an unknown world where her life is threatened. When she is forced to marry Jamie Fraser, a chivalrous and romantic young Scottish warrior, a passionate relationship is ignited that tears Claire's heart between two vastly different men in two irreconcilable lives.

La quinta stagione di Outlander, in prima visione su FoxLife dal 6 marzo 2020 in contemporanea con gli Stati Uniti, ci riporta nell'America del XVIII secolo.
Claire (Caitriona Balfe) e Jamie (Sam Heughan) hanno ritrovato la figlia Brianna (Sophie Skelton), che ha dato alla luce un bambino e ha appena ritrovato l'amore di Roger (Richard Rankin).
Come sempre, però, ci sono dei problemi: Roger avrà difficoltà ad adattarsi alla vita dell'epoca, esprimendo più volte il desiderio di tornare nel suo tempo, ma nessuno sa cosa succederebbe al bambino se qualcuno provasse a fargli attraversare le pietre.
Jamie è stato incaricato dal Governatore Tryon (Tim Downie) in persona di guidare una milizia che scovi e giustizi immediatamente il leader dei Regolatori: il padrino di Jamie, Murtagh Fitzgibbons (Duncan Lacroix), che si sta nascondendo in casa di zia Jocasta (Maria Doyle Kennedy) nello stesso momento in cui Jamie riceve l'incarico.
Come se non bastasse, resta l'incendio: Brianna aveva deciso di viaggiare nel tempo dopo aver ricordato il necrologio che annunciava la morte di Jamie e Claire Fraser nell'incendio di Fraser Ridge, ma la data non era leggibile. Sapendo solo che avverrà nel 177(...), i protagonisti dovranno provare a cambiare la storia. Ci riusciranno?
