Tutto comincia con due ragazzine che frequentano una high school della Federazione, l'umana Lil (Sadie Munroe, The Handmaid's Tale) e l'aliena Kima (la semiesordiente Ilamaria Ebrahim). Le ragazze salutano i loro genitori che lavorano in una stazione di attracco su Marte tramite i loro schermi olografichi, ma non iniziano al meglio il loro rapporto.

12-year-old classmates Kima and Lil find themselves at odds with each other on a day that will change their lives forever.
