Trama: The Outsider è l'adattamento televisivo dell'omonimo romanzo di Stephen King, scritto per HBO dall'ideatore di The Night Of Richard Price. La miniserie in dieci parti è ambientata a Flint City, una cittadina dell'Oklahoma con pochi abitanti, la cui quiete è sconvolta dal ritrovamento del corpo mutilato e abusato dell'undicenne Frankie Peterson. Tutti gli indizi sembrano indicare che il colpevole sia Terry Maitland (Jason Bateman, Ozark), un padre di famiglia, nonché allenatore di baseball della Little League e insegnante d'inglese.
