DESCRIPTION
A young girl is destined to liberate her world from the grip of the Magisterium which represses people's ties to magic and their animal spirits known as daemons.
In un mondo parallelo alla terra, il potentissimo Magisterium reprime ogni idea diversa dalla sua tacciandola come eretica; tutte i residenti sono costretti tra l’altro a camminare con al fianco un daimon, ossia un animale che incarna l’anima della potentissima organizzazione. La situazione subirà dei forti contraccolpi nel momento in cui Lyra Bellacqua, un’orfana cresciuta dallo zio Lord Asriel (James McAvoy), deciderà di avviare le ricerche di un suo amico scomparso misteriosamente.
Ambiziosa e sognatrice, anche per via della sua adolescenza passata sui libri, Lyra scoprirà presto l’esistenza di un complotto riguardante il rapimento di diversi bambini e si troverà faccia a faccia con un inquietante fenomeno chiamato Dust (La Polvere). Instaurato un legame di amicizia e complicità con Mrs Coulter (Ruth Wilson), la Bellacqua si dirigerà così verso nord in un viaggio che, oltre a portarla a scoprire minacciosi segreti in grado di cambiare per sempre la sua vita, le darà le risposte alle domande che si è posta fin da bambina.
