DESCRIPTION
Some time after the Civil War, a stagecoach hurtles through the wintry Wyoming landscape. Bounty hunter John Ruth and his fugitive captive Daisy Domergue race towards the town of Red Rock, where Ruth will bring Daisy to justice. Along the road, they encounter Major Marquis Warren (an infamous bounty hunter) and Chris Mannix (a man who claims to be Red Rock's new sheriff). Lost in a blizzard, the bunch seeks refuge at Minnie's Haberdashery. When they arrive they are greeted by unfamiliar faces: Bob, who claims to be taking care of the place while Minnie is gone; Oswaldo Mobray, the hangman of Red Rock; Joe Gage, a cow puncher; and confederate general Sanford Smithers. As the storm overtakes the mountainside, the eight travelers come to learn that they might not make it to Red Rock after all...

On April 25, 2019 Netflix released a new Extended Version of The Hateful Eight with a few changes from the Roadshow Version. This version did not include the intermission, but did include several new shots and scenes. Most noticeably, it was also release in four (4) episodes as a mini-series.

L'ottavo film di Quentin Tarantino, The Hateful Eight, è approdato sulla piattaforma Netflix in America nella sua versione estesa, che è stata distribuita fino ad ora solamente al cinema e non in Home Video. Come riporta IndieWire, la pellicola è arrivata su Netflix USA il 25 aprile in una particolare extended cut: infatti è disponibile come una mini-serie divisa in 4 episodi dalla durata di circa 50 minuti a testa.
Gli episodi di The Hateful Eight: Extended Edition caricati sulla piattaforma streaming sono intitolati L’ultima diligenza per Red Rock (50 minuti), L’emporio di Minnie (51 minuti), Domergue ha un segreto (53 minuti) e Ultimo capitolo (56 minuti).
Quindi i grandi appassionati dei film di Tarantino e della sua ottava opera potranno scegliere di godersi sia la versione estesa in formato tradizionale, sia la extended version in formato episodico. Probabilmente la scelta di Netflix di proporre questa duplice trasposizione è stata dettata dalla volontà di non rendere troppo faticosa la visione per intero dei 210 minuti di questa nuova lunga edizione, piena di scene inedite.

Jackson, Kurt Russell, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Walton Goggins, Demián Bichir, Tim Roth, Michael Madsen e Bruce Dern: otto personaggi, questi, che cercando di rifugiarsi da una tormenta, scopriranno una serie incredibile di segreti. Il film western ha ricevuto ben 3 candidature agli Oscar e ottenuto l'ambita statuetta come miglior colonna sonora, grazie al maestro Ennio Morricone.
