Learn how to build, deploy and manage massively scalable cloud services with AWS Lambda.
Description
AWS Lambda is a new, serverless way to build systems in the cloud.
AWS Lambda allows you to run code without thinking about servers, and you’ll only pay for the compute time you consume. Instead of creating and maintaining an EC2 virtual machine to host your code, you can now let AWS Lambda manage the compute resources for you. AWS Lambda is a new way to build serverless solutions in the cloud that’s simple to use, continuously scales, and is very cost efficient.
We'll follow the full lifecycle of a function, from its birth on your laptop to receiving real events in the cloud. This is a comprehensive course that covers how to write, deploy, and manage AWS Lambda functions. By combining AWS Lambda with other AWS services, you can build powerful applications that automatically scale up and down and run in a highly available configuration with no servers to manage. You'll be able to build a full application of tiny, composable Lambda functions.
Together we’ll create AWS Lambda functions so your code is automatically triggered by events from Amazon S3, Kinesis Streams, and DynamoDB. By the end of the course, you’ll understand the fundamentals of AWS Lambda and be ready to build powerful serverless applications - all with zero administration.
The hands-on labs will show you how to write Lambda functions that:
• Run when files change in S3 (e.g. user upload processing)
• Run when Amazon Kinesis messages are received (e.g. notifications, click stream tracking)
• Run when records change in DynamoDB (e.g. stored procedures for NoSQL, archival and auditing)
We know that you’re busy, so our training course is made up of 5-20 minute videos. Our video lessons keep-it-simple and explain things clearly and succinctly. We’ll also focus on hands-on labs to walk through practical examples of real world scenarios, step by step.
