FreeArc is designed as a modern multi-purpose archiver. The main advantage of FreeArc is fast, but efficient compression and numerous functions. FreeArc main features: Solid compression with smart updates (only changed blocks are fixed recompressed) User-definable fixed block size (-s ...) and file-sort (-ds ...), including individual file name order (arc.groups) AES / Blowfish / Twofish / Serpent encryption with keyfile support and the ability to chain several ciphers (-p, PS, - keyfile, - encryption algorithms =) FAR and Total Commander plugins allow to create / browse / extract archives with the file manager interface Ability to list / extract archives directly from the Internet: arc x http://www.haskell.org/bz/arc.arc *. h Archive protection and recovery, including recovery of the Internet Archive of CRCs driven sectors (r / rr / rr / - = original URL) Ability to archive before and after each operation (-tp/-t) testing, including review by the full recovery record and archive test Moving to archive (m), joining archives (j), Archive recompression (CH), lock (k) and comment (-z/cw) Select the files by size, time / age and name (-sl-sm,-ta,-tb,-tn-to-n), choose by / clear archive attribute (-ao/-ac) Base directory on the hard disk / inside archives (-dp/-ap), automatic generation of file name archive (-ag) Errors and warnings are reported to stderr and the program exit code - logfile option saves the file information displayed Configurable via arc.ini FreeArc file and environment variable; alternative settings can be selected by -cfg/-env options What's new in FreeArc: New version FreeArc made a breakthrough in compression efficiency! It is 1.5-2x faster than the previous Speed King - FreeArc 0.60. And 2-5x faster than other best compression programs (7-zip, WinRAR, WinZIP) for the same comrpession ratio. New FreeArc is as fast as hell - that's why we chose such a version number;) FreeArc is now able to search and extract archives of many types: ZIP, RAR, 7-ZIP, CAB, ARJ, LZH, gz, bz2 ... with a brilliant 7-Zip technology. Documents and program can be run directly from the archive, FreeArc will extract additional files if necessary. Any problems with Explorer integration has been fixed.
