Process Dashboard 1.12.1 is developed to be an interesting as well as helpful tool which allows you to create a PSP(SM) / TSP(SM) support tool. The PSP and the TSP are remarkable technologies that can change the face of the software industry, and we share the SEI's zeal to promote their widespread use. We feel that a freely available, powerful support tool could help to remove one of the most significant barriers to PSP / TSP adoption. We therefore aim to develop a world-class tool under the open-source model, and distribute it freely to anyone using the PSP and/or TSP. We feel that this is the least we can do to thank the SEI for developing and distributing these remarkable processes.Major Features:Ease of useOptimizes ease of collecting the most commonly performed metrics (time and defects)Other process aids (scripts, forms, templates, and summaries) are just a mouse-click awayIts small onscreen footprint allows the tool to coexist with integrated development environmentsTasks are arranged hierarchically, mirroring project work-breakdown structureFlexibility / extensibilityNew processes and new types of data can be added without programmingProcess scripts, templates, forms and summaries are HTML, and can therefore be created with any HTML editorPlatform independence100% Java implementation runs on Windows, Unix, Linux, Macintosh, etc.PriceSince the tool is open-source, it is distributed at no cost. Furthermore, it does not rely upon any commercially licensed software, so you don't need to purchase any software to use the dashboard. Enhancements: Process Dashboard Version 1.12.1 has been released to fix a high-priority defect.Version 1.12 contained a bug that prevents some users from deleting defects from the defect log. Longtime dashboard users are unaffected by this bug. Individuals who began their use of the Process Dashboard by installing version 1.12 are encouraged to upgrade. Requirements: The Java Runtime Environment (available from Sun Microsystems). Version 1.6 of the Java Runtime Environment is recommended, but only version 1.5 is required.Make certain that JavaScript is enabled in your browser. (This is typically the default setting, so you usually don't need to worry about enabling this unless you explicitly disabled it in the past.)If you connect to the internet via a proxy server, you may need to tell your browser to bypass the proxy for the address "localhost". The instructions below may not apply to your browser word-for-word, but should hopefully get you pointed in the right direction:For Internet Explorer, choose "Tools > Internet Options". Click on the "Connections" tab, then on the "LAN Settings" button. Make certain the "Bypass proxy server for local addresses" box is checked. For Firefox and Safari, no changes are typically needed.
