Il principe Duke Fleed fugge dopo una disperata resistenza a bordo di un robot da battaglia, Goldrake (Grendizer), dal suo pianeta natale Fleed in seguito all'attacco delle truppe del Re Vega che vuole sottomettere i pianeti invadendoli e annettendoli al loro impero. Giunto sulla Terra Duke Fleed viene trovato gravemente ferito dal dottor Procton (Genzo Umon), direttore dell'Istituto di ricerche spaziali, il quale lo accoglie e lo nasconde sotto le mentite spoglie di Actarus (Daisuke Umon), facendolo passare per suo figlio di ritorno da un lungo viaggio mentre il robot con il suo disco spaziale (Spacer) viene nascosto all'interno dell'istituto, nei cui sotterranei viene costruito una sorta di enorme hangar.
Prince Duke Fleed flees after a desperate resistance aboard a battle robot, Goldrake (Grendizer), from his native planet Fleed following the attack of the troops of King Vega who wants to subdue the planets invading them and annexing them to their empire. Arrived on Earth Duke Fleed is found seriously injured by Dr. Procton (Genzo Umon), director of the Institute of space research, which welcomes him and hides him under the disguised of Actarus (Daisuke Umon), making it pass for his son back from a long journey while the robot with its spatial disk (Spacer) is hidden inside the institute, in whose basement a sort of huge hangar is built.
