DESCRIPTION
A spin-off from The Vampire Diaries and set in New Orleans, The Originals centers on the Mikaelson siblings, otherwise known as the world's original vampires: Klaus (Joseph Morgan), Elijah (Daniel Gillies), and Rebekah (Claire Holt). Now Klaus must take down his protégé, Marcel (Charles Michael Davis), who is now in charge of New Orleans, in order to re-take his city, as he originally built New Orleans. Klaus departed from the city after being chased down by his father Mikael, while it was being constructed and Marcel took charge. As Klaus has returned after many years, his ego has provoked him to become the king of the city. "Every King needs an heir" says Klaus, accepting the unborn child. The child is a first to be born to a hybrid (part vampire, part werewolf) and a werewolf (Hayley).
A family of power-hungry thousand year old vampires look to take back the city that they built and dominate all those who have done them wrong.
La quinta stagione di The Originals inizia sette anni dopo che i membri principali della famiglia Mikaelson – Klaus (Joseph Morgan), Elijah (Daniel Gillies), Rebekah (Claire Holt) e Kol (Nathaniel Buzolic) – hanno assorbito un quarto dell'energia oscura di Hollow ciascuno e fuggono da New Orleans per mantenere al sicuro sia la loro amata città che la giovane Hope (Danielle Rose Russell).
Nel frattempo, Hayley e Freya guardano Hope crescere, decidendo infine di mandarla alla scuola Salvatore in modo che Caroline (Candice King) possa tenerla d'occhio. Con Marcel che segue Rebekah fuori città ed Elijah spogliato della sua memoria, il pericolo sembra essere contenuto ... fino a quando un'improvvisa tragedia costringe i fratelli a tornare a casa.
