This is an open image for virtual machines, so it can be imported into different VMs like Virtual Box and VMware. A troubleshooting guide is also added. I tested the import into VMware and VB and it worked like a charm :)
The image contains an electronic workshop service software from Volkswagen called ELSA.
It contains schematics, repair guides and what ever you would need in a workshop to service/repair cars from a dedicated brand.
It is pretty hard to find some working ELSA with recent databases, up-to-date versions and no compatibility issues. I tried it quite a while until a found a good VM image that had no issues and could be updated with problems.
So I took the image from MH community (Thank you for that great piece of work :-* ), updated the operating system to patch state 12.2017, upgraded Elsa to 6.0 and added another DB and updated 2 others.
I tried to find all databases of all supported brands, but had no luck so far to find Skoda and Seat. But adding them is absolutely easy.
Further I did install security software like AV scanner and firewall.
The image archives sum up to 53 GB for good reasons, partially because of the databases add/updated, partially of course due to system updates and new software.
But most of the extra payload is caused by the archiving. It is highly integrated. Highest compression rate along with parity checking, checksum and recovery data.
You will be able to recover the image even if the archive is somewhat damaged.
