DESCRIPTION

Prosegue con la settima stagione la serie Tv di genere horror - fantasy "The Vampire Diaries". Prodotta da Kevin Williamson e Julie Plec, si basa sulla saga di libri della scrittrice Lisa James Smith, dal titolo italiano 'Il diario del Vampiro'.
Ambientata in una cittadina della Virginia di nome Mystic Falls, la serie si concentra sul triangolo amoroso tra la studentessa Elena Gilbert (Nina Dobrev) e i due fratelli-vampiri Stefan (Paul Wesley) e Damon Salvatore (Ian Somerhalder). Stefan è un vampiro dal 1864, si ciba di sangue animale ed è tormentato dalla presenza del fratello Damon che a differenza sua preferisce cibarsi di umani. I due sono stati vampirizzati dalla stessa donna che amavano: Katherine Pierce, doppleganger di Elena. I due fratelli si innamorano anche della studentessa ed entrano a far parte della sua vita e quella dei suoi amici, che saranno tutti coinvolti nelle misteriose vicende che aleggiano a Mystic Falls.
Nella settima stagione, dopo l’incantesimo che ha legato indissolubilmente le esistenze di Elena e Bonnie (Kat Graham) lasciando in vita solo quest’ultima, Damon è disperato e deve fare i conti con la scomparsa all’assenza del suo grande amore con cui si sentiva profondamente in sintonia. Bonnie proverà a consolarlo instaurando con lui una forte e solida amicizia, mentre allo stesso tempo Caroline (Candice King) e Stefan troveranno finalmente il coraggio di amarsi anche se saranno diversi gli ostacoli che dovranno affrontare.
Non mancheranno intanto i problemi a Mystic Falls: la banda di vampiri dovrà infatti fronteggiare la nuova minaccia costituita dall’arrivo degli Eretici, una sorta di incrocio fra streghe e vampiri. Questi, riportati in vita e capitanati dalla malvagia madre di Stefan e Damon Lily Salvatore (Annie Wersching), non faranno altro che portare guai e seminare continuamente il panico tra gli abitanti della piccola cittadina.
Nel cast della nuova stagione troviamo, tra gli altri, Alaric Saltzman (Matthew Davis), Michael Malarkey (Enzo), Elizabeth Blackmore (Valerie Tulle) e Scarlett Byrne (Nora Hildegard), mentre come nelle vesti di guest star parteciperanno anche Michael Trevino (Tyler Lockwood) e Joseph Morgan (Klaus Mikaelson).
