Damon is determined to stop Rayna at all cost, but learns from Enzo, who found it out in the Armory, that the huntress's shaman curse dooms everyone she ever scarred, including Stefan, to death when her ninth life is spent, and only one is left. Matt, feeling supported by his cop lover, chooses to limit his loyalty to humanity and turn on vampires, even at the Salvatores' expense. Alaric and Caroline move with the twins to Texas, but aren't safe from the Armory. Convinced he always draws disaster on his loved ones, Damon resolves to sacrifice himself by asking witch Valerie to transfer Stefan's scar to him, but his noble brother hesitates while chases go on.

DESCRIPTION
The vampire brothers Damon and Stefan Salvatore, eternal adolescents, having been leading "normal" lives, hiding their bloodthirsty condition, for centuries, moving on before their non-aging is noticed. They are back in the Virginia town where they became vampires. Stefan is noble, denying himself blood to avoid killing, and tries to control his evil brother Damon, who promised to Stefan an eternity of misery. Stefan falls in love with schoolgirl Elena, who has an uncanny resemblance to the Salvatore brothers old love, Katherine; and whose best friend Bonnie is a witch.
