Episode Plot:
Gibbs continues to rage against mortality by pushing DiNozzo towards autonomy; Tony thinks Gibbs is punishing him. DEA Special Agent "Mitch" Luis Mitchell asks for help from the team. A wayward U.S. Marine, Sgt. Cole Gleason, agreed to give Mitch intel about a West Coast drug cartel run by Benson Long, currently visiting his D.C.-based cousin, Roy Evans, antiquities and fine rugs dealer. Mitch calls McGee "buddy" and makes him uncomfortable. Tony and Ducky have information about how Gibbs knows Mitch, but through very different sources. The team pulls in Fisher Hyland, a "reformed" hipster drug dealer with a penchant for the herb to bring down the Long cartel. Ducky gives Gibbs some advice he needs but does not want. Tony violates Rule 4 in order to protect Gibbs; the team learns Gibbs violated Rule 10 and scramble to help him and Mitch. Can Tony preserve Rule 15, the big picture in this case and prevent their NCIS Icarus from flying too high and too hot?
